Jeremy and Karen have sent out a reminder to everyone abou the “Ice Breaker” Party.
From Jeremy: "We will begin our third season by inviting you to our annual ice-breaker party on March 24, 2010 at Mac’s Time Out Lounge, located at 315 Belle Street in downtown Alton. We will start at 6:30 P.M. We have some updates to discuss and will be serving beverages, food, stories, smiles and margaritas (maybe not exactly in that order). We look forward to seeing all of you there! Please RSVP to let us know that you are coming, so that we can have enough of everything on hand!"
RSVP by calling the office at 618-462-9860 or contact the marina directly through their website at www.altonmarina.com.
In related news, Kelsie will be there modeling the latest in grass and coconut "clothing." This photo was taken at last year's party!
Labor day approaches, and I have a few news items to pass along:
First of all, as you probably already know, the Corps of Engineers has dropped the water level- this will prevent the Nina and Pinta replica ships from visiting us, as they had planned. For those wishing to see them, they are moored at the Loading Dock in Grafton, and will be open for tours 9 A.M. through 6 P.M. Tuesday September 1st until Monday September 7th.
Second, on Thursday September 10th from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M., Karen will be hosting a contingent of local officials at the pool deck. This group, led by State Representative Dan Beiser, will be here to become more familiar with our Marina and our Operations. No splashing, please!
Third, we need to ask all of you to refrain from taking pets into bathing areas. This includes the pool deck and shower facilities. Health codes require this, and folks with allergies and other sensitivities may have difficulty with using the area after a pet has been present!
Finally, On Sunday, September Sixth, the Ralph Butler Band will be putting on the biggest Amphitheater event of the summer with their “Labor of Love Music Festival”. Ralph has lined up some of the best bands around to make this festival one to remember!
I think everyone in the Marina knows what a great show Ralph and his crew put on!
See you this weekend! Please let us know if you need anything !

Here are just a couple of the pics of us making the lock and the Arch. My heart went out to the boaters stuck in the rain, A BIG THANK-YOU to the Photo Family for thier kind hearts.
As you know, the pool was repainted last year and the Marina was given a 5 year warranty on the paint job. Recently some of the paint has started peeling. A representatives from the painting company is coming to review the damage.
Regardless, a special thanks to the marina staff for working through the problems and OFFICIALLY OPENING the pool and pool deck area open this weekend! Let the Margaritas Flow! HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!
